The Cricket Club
The club was resurrected in 2006 to great excitement after the original, and inferior, version folded in the early 1980s.
We have our own kit, our own sponsor (the Axe), our own logo (a pheasant with attitude) but unfortunately we don’t have our own ground so we always play away. We have about seven matches each season, always on a Sunday and generally against local villages though we have been known to go on tour as far away as darkest Suffolk. The only regular opposition we haven’t beaten so far is Clavering, which is upsetting.
Our standard is resolutely mediocre but we have an all-inclusive ethos (blame is shared equally) and we do excel when it is our turn to make teas.
