Ranagri Folk Band at Arkesden Church.
Friday 1st November, 2024-7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
We are organising a genuinely significant musical event to raise money for the church and to bring the village together. On Friday November 1st, Arkesden is hosting Ranagri, the Fatea Magazine Band of the year 2022.
A number of us from the village have seen them at numerous festivals and venues over the last 5+ years and have got to know the band quite well; so, it’s a real honour for us to be able to bring them to our humble village church
.
Ranagri is an award-winning folk band from Ireland and England. With a unique blend of instruments that includes voices, guitar, bouzouki, flutes, whistles, harp and electric harp, and bodhran and drums, they create a sound that is genuinely mesmerising and unforgettable. They have recorded 5 critically acclaimed studio albums, cementing them as one of the most exciting and innovative folk bands in the UK today. They have performed at festivals all over Europe, as well as venues big and small in the UK.
They are as happy to make you dance as they are to make you smile or shed a tear, passionately delving into current world topics, playing with politics, and creating uplifting music to lyrics with great depth.
Check them out on Spotify or Apple Music. The album called “Voices” is especially Good!
We’d love to fill the church, so please feel free to invite friends and relatives from near and far and let’s make it a benchmark Arkesden event!
